Factors Influencing Graduate Employability

Research on employability skills has gained much attention as employers now are concerned about finding good workers who not only have basic academic skills but also higher order thinking skills like learning, reasoning, thinking creatively, decision making and problem solving. This study attempts to investigate the core skills required by the industry from the graduates. For the purpose of the study, data have been collected with a structured questionnaire survey from the CEOs and HR managers of some selected companies in Bangladesh. Collected data have been analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique with smart PLS software 2.0M3. The findings reveal that the industry experts have placed the most significance on the soft skills of the graduates followed by problem solving skills, leadership skills and functional skills. As this study has explored the skills of effective graduates from the opinions of industry experts, it provides the taxonomy of graduate skills from demand side view. The outcome of this study might pave the ways for the universities to develop new guidelines so as to make their teaching effective which consequently leads to the development of employability skills among the graduates.
Factors Influencing Social Entrepreneurial Behavior

Purpose This paper aims to provide a deeper understanding on social entrepreneurial behavior (SEB). Previous researchers mostly focused on social entrepreneurial intention leaving a gap between intention and behavior. The present study, however, tries to explore the issues related to actual SEB by taking data from those who are actively involved in social entrepreneurial activities. Design/methodology/approach For testing the hypothesized model of this study, a survey was conducted taking samples from 320 respondents who are actively involved in social entrepreneurial activities. The collected data were analyzed by SmartPLS version 2.0.M3 for validating the results. Findings The findings generated from the empirical data reveal that self-efficacy was found to be the most significant followed by moral obligation, innovativeness, social support and empathy (EM) in influencing SEB. In addition to that, perceived desirability partially mediated the relationship between EM, social support, innovativeness and SEB. Originality/value This study establishes the importance of some distinctive factors influencing SEB. It is believed that the present study has important implications for society as a whole for solving societal problems and it enriches existing body of knowledge as well.
Graduate Employability: Industry Requirements and Responsibilities of Institutions of Higher Education.

Through extensive literature review, the study identifies soft skills, problem solving skills, functional skills, leadership skills and academic reputation as the employability skills of graduates. For the purpose of the study, data have been collected with a structured questionnaire survey from the CEOs and HR managers of some selected companies in Bangladesh. Collected data have been analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique with smart PLS software 2.0M3. The findings reveal that the industry experts have placed utmost importance on the soft skills of the graduates followed by problem solving skills, leadership skills and functional skills. Thus, this study provides insights into the value of skills and their application from the perspective of the employers. The broader stakeholder understanding of employability skills can assist institutions of higher education to equip their graduates as per the demand of the industry. As this study has explored the skills of effective graduates from the opinions of industry experts, it provides the taxonomy of graduate skills from demand side view. The outcome of this study might pave the ways for the universities to develop new guidelines so as to make their teaching effective which consequently leads to the development of employability skills among the graduates

The Present Scenario of English Language Teaching in a Bangladeshi School

This paper is about my experience observing and conducting classes. In Bangladesh, English is our second language. So we should learn the English language and talk as much as we can. As our university authority has decided to visit schools of our choosing and observe and conduct classes, So, I visited “Pioneer School” for my internship report. I observed three classes and conducted five classes. This was a new journey for me, and I also explored some new things in this experience. While observing classes, I noticed some aspects that are important for me, like how to deliver lessons, time management, teacher- student relationships, etc. This paper is about my teaching experience, class observation, conducting classes, time management, and teacher- student relationships. Overall, my experience was amazing. I learned a lot of things through this journey, which will help me in the future. This experience will help me understand how to make English language learning more useful and easy for the students, what the best things are for the students to learn English more easily, and how students can enjoy their English language learning without any fear.
